Two Thanksgiving dinners and a busy yet also uncertain future ahead

Oh and here's an interesting thing that happened in Canada: After all the years of lobbying, fighting, and getting the homosexual union recognized as marriage gays don't want to be "married" anymore. Should America fall into the same path that Canada did that could very well happen to us all!

Anyway, enough with that. So recently I've had two Thanksgiving dinners and a delicious Texas yum-yum by Mom. The simple fact that I've had two Thanksgiving dinners instead of one makes this year particularly special.

At Dad's house there were some mischevious roll restriction jokes by Dad and Grandma Boothe that were circulating in an attempt to push my buttons, and unfortunately they accomplished their goals. The dinner was nothing short of spectacular, although it went by rather fast though. Yes I ate a lot of mashed potatoes and rolls, as Ryan pointed out (although it was only about the rolls) "my favorite parts of the Thanksgiving feast". I ate other things too: I ate that delicious green beans dish that was being served there and turkey. A unique feature of this Thanksgiving dinner was the "blessing basket" where we wrote on little green strips of paper what we were particularly thankful for. I loved the idea, although we were supposed to remain anonymus some people's blessings were relatively easy to distinguish from other's. Then we played 5 Crowns, a game in which Becca does very well, where Aunt Merrilyn won and although I got in last place out of the people who remained in the game I still did better than Grandpa who had quit a while back. On the way home Ryan, Becca, and I listened to Christmas songs from my iPod.

As for the Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Barbara's house, it was a whole different story. Even though I beat my all-time high score in Wii Bowling I, and Becca and Aunt Carrie, got skunked by Molly who hadn't played Wii Bowling until then. Molly got seven strikes in-a-row and got an all time high score of 212! Go Molly! Anyway Ryan and I set up Grandma's Christmas lights and got all of her Christmas stuff down. Even though I didn't eat as much at Grandma Barbara's than at Grandma and Grandpa Boothe's I still ate a considerable amount. Oh and I also played Hand and Foot with Molly and Grandma, in the which Molly beat Grandma and me by a lot.

Well that is the major update for me. There's a reason why I titled this post the way I did, and that is because I realize that in two weeks I'll be busy from Tuesday to Saturday. This is where the busy comes in and I also want everybody to know that Thursday December 11, will be the date of the Christmas concert for my school, and it will start at 7:00 as it normally does and it will also be at Thomas Downey High School, surprise suprise. For those that are interested I will also be performing at the new Catholic church in Modesto (don't ask me where that is because I don't know, but I'll let you all know as soon as I know) and that will be on Saturday December 13.

But like I said that will be two weeks from now. Well at least you know why I said that I've got a busy future ahead. As for the uncertain part, well I hate the notion that time is slipping away without me having accomplished anything in scouts yet. Plus I need to get the paperwork for my Eagle project started! Please pray that I do this, but it will be a very important life altering accomplishment if I manage to get this through!

Also I am very proud to mention that I pulled off a rather spirit filled talk in church, at the last second! I'm serious, I just remembered this morning that I was supposed to give a talk, but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to give a talk this Sunday or the next so I confirmed with Brother Johnson that I was in fact supposed to give a talk this Sunday. At this point I was pretty nervous and I was going through the index for scriptures on the topic of prayer, the topic that came into my mind. Overall I gave my talk with little preparation, but I definitely had the Spirit with me, and I got a lot of compliments, which felt great and overall it made this talk all the sweeter.
