My week

Yo ho ho a pirate's life for me. That's right, yesterday I saw Pirates of the Carribbean 2 and it was awesome! I saw it with my Dad at Galaxy Theaters and boy was it packed! We had to sit off at the side and I got the best seat on the side. (The best seats are either the middle, or if can't get the middle try getting close to the middle.) This movie was better than the first, way more humor, longer swordfights, even nastier looking villians than the last one, and a suspenseful ending that will get crowds flocking into seeing the next Pirates of the Carribean. After that I mainly hung around at Dad's house, Ryan and Becca came and we got into Dad's pool, which was pretty darn cold! Brrrrr.

On Friday I went to an old family friend's daughter's wedding reception. Interestingly enough she married a black man named Victor, who I heard was royalty down in Africa. In the words of my dear sweet Mother "I was hoping to shake the hand of a prince." Well silly Mom and Ryan restrained me from calling him things like "Your Majesty" and such but in the end I'm glad they did. I also met my English teacher, Mrs. Lundquist, there and Mom had a rather lengthy chat with her.

Water Polo is going on fine, which reminds me that one day (I think Thursday) our pool had no cholrine in it, again, and so we were forced to train on land instead of the water. We had an abs workout, and let me tell you, the shortest and least intense water polo workout has left me more tired and "worked out" than any workout I've had at the gym. So anyway, after our workouts, the coaches decided to let us have some fun. We walked over to the grass, which was like twenty feet away from the pool and they let us play Canadian Dodgeball with waterpolo balls. For those of you that have never seen what they look like, water polo balls look like the yellow ball on top, (all darn blog images are published at the top.) and as you can imagine throwing a water polo, probably isn't going to hurt unless you hit below the belt which I did to some poor guy but he seemed to take it really well until he got me out in a later game. After a couple of rounds of Canadian Dodgeball we got to playing Steal the Bacon.

Steal the Bacon is a rather simple game to play: A ball is placed directly in the center, between two people and the object of the game is to be the first one to run down and grab the ball and run with it to the other side and your team gets a point. Sounds simple enough until you add tagging to it which means that if the guy has the ball and he gets tagged the team gets no point and the coaches move on to another set of people. At first we played with tagging but then the coaches really wanted to have some fun and they said that we could tackle. So, pretty much what started as a nice game of Steal the Bacon ended as a game of unofficial Rugby! That's right! Tackling without pads we were playing rugby although that 's what nobody was calling it. I only wanted to play one-on-one with the other guy but the coaches found it too boring and most of the time they wanted 3 or 4 guys to go against each other. Thank goodness nobody got hurt although some guys who really got into it were complaining about this or that but they were okay and thank goodness I'm alive and unharmed. Well that's my week for you, hope to hear from you guys soon!
