A long week...

Hey everybody! Here comes another post brought to you by the G Bros. Corporation.
On Monday Mom, Becca, Ryan, and I went to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. It was pretty cool seeing all those huge tuna and hammerhead sharks again. Becca was super estatic to see the coast for the very first time and she took A LOT of pictures and she made a few videos on her camera. Hopefully I can be able to transfer some of her pictures onto this computer so I can show you guys. We had a rather funny experience while up there during lunchtime. Mom, Ryan, Becca and I were sitting on a bench outside of the Aquarium building watching the scuba divers, (they have a scuba diving program for people 13 or younger, it's pretty cool, Becca went nuts over the fact that she was way too old to scuba dive at the Aquarium. It was rather funny to listen to her.) and we were eating our lunch when out of the blue comes this seagull who stole Mom's sandwich right out of her hand.
It was pretty darn funny watching the seagull fly off with Mom's sandwich dangling out of it's mouth. Afterwards that seagull decided that it wanted some dessert and came back, swooped down and stole Becca's cookie before she had taken a bite. By now Ryan and I were laughing pretty hard and both of us had our food pretty close to us in case the seagull was still hungry. Becca got pretty worked up about it too, I think she wanted it to come back to she could kill it but it never came back. By now we had already seen the sea otter feeding and been to the touch pools and stuff that like that. We were ready to go home but we still wanted to walk around and check things out on Cannery Row, which we did.
We went to a Ghiradelli's store and checked out the place which was full of chocolate. We even had samples of chocolate with caramel fillings which were pretty good. Ryan and I went to a place with old historical photos of people like Elvis, the original Seabiscuit, John Muir, Frank Sinatra and other photos like that. Just as we were walking in there was this old picture of people, during the Prohibition times so it was probably about 1930's or 1920's, walking and carrying signs saying WE WANT BEER WE WANT BEER and I wondered of all the things to fight for: Why beer? After that Mom wanted to check out an old scented candles shop which was full of so many different fragrances that even for a human it was a lot to take in.
The last place we visited, before leaving Monterrey, was a restaurant called Bubba Gump's. We ate there, I didn't want to because I hate shrimp or for that matter any kind of seafood, but I decided to be a good sport since we probably wouldn't be eating there again any time too soon. We sat on a table, outside the restaurant on a platform, directly next to a heater. Now the thing about the coast is that it's COLD even in July you need sweatpants for crying out loud! So sitting directly next to a heater made me feel good and warm. At Bubba Gump's they have this creative way of getting the waiter/waiteress's attenition by placing these two bumper plates (at least that's what I think they were) that either say: Run Forrest Run or Stop Forrest Stop just like in the movie for those of you that have seen it. If the plate says Stop Forrest Stop then you've got the waitress's attention, if not then she walks past you. Afterwards the waitress asked us some trivia questions which all of us want to see the movie again.
Nothing interesting happened on Tuesday or Wednesday best to my knowledge. On Thursday Moband, which is an old band that plays just in Modesto which is pretty darn cool, had another concert which was neat. I got to see all of my friends there although all I really got to do was just say hi since most of them had already formed their clicks and everything but still it was cool seeing them again.
For the record I beat my Tae Kwon Do instructor, Mr. Yee, at sparring. I literally kicked his helmet right off of his head, which was funny enough. On Saturday I went to an SNA which was pretty fun cuz I got to dance with A LOT of cute girls. Yeah I know, The G-Meister's got it all: looks, brains, spirituality and plenty of talent to go around.
On Monday, while me, Mom, Ryan, and Becca were away, Dad had his 49th birthday. The previous post below is my loving tribute to him, which Mom and Ryan got a big kick out of. Also I will be shortly posting a first draft of a chapter coming from my new book called Rise of Atlantis so stay in tuned for that. Also Aunt Laurie's been hard to catch. I've tried calling and e-mailing her in order to discuss literary ideas with her but she's not responding back so if anybody can please get in touch with her and tell her that I would like to talk with her that would be greatly appreciated.
