A week without... + a long list of kudos to give out = My life in a nutshell
Hi everybody!
Recently Mom and I went to go see the new Downey musical, Urinetown. It was fabulous!!!! The plot was about poor people who got taxed to potty. So a guy by the name of Bobby Strong comes along and stirs up a rebellion. The name sounds awful, but the music, choreography (I hope I spelled that right), and acting was superb, as it is to be expected in all Downey musicals. You know a musical is even better when almost the entire cast is made up of people you know.
Now the first part of this post is called " A week without" for a reason and that reason is that recently I've done without a few things I normally don't go without: Parents, a track practice, health and two Tae Kwon Do classes.
From Sunday to Wednesday Mom was at Florida and from Wednesday (I think) to Tuesday Dad was at Las Vegas. All the while Grandma was taking care of me, in the which she did a most splendid job of doing so. One of the good things about having a busy life is that you don't time to be homesick because you're bouncing from one activity to another. Still, I'm glad that Mom and Dad home, and I like it that way.
The reason why I did not go to two Tae Kwon Do classes and a track practice is because I've been a little under the weather, lately. Fortunately I'm still healthy enough to be at school. Speaking of school I just got through the boring Age of Anxiety chapter in history. I'm not too impressed with the wacky Freudian psychology, French impressionism, functionalism etc. However I can see why everybody was soooooooooo downright pessimistic though. Well now it's onwards and upwards, my next chapter is WORLD WAR 2!!!!!!! Talk about an awesome chapter to study! World War 2 is known for many things (like the biggest land invasion evvvvver: Normandy) So I'm also wondering: Why were people depressed and truamatized after World War I and not after World War II.
Now for the list of kudos: Kudos to Dad for brillantly answering my omnipotence paradox question. Kudos to Mom for all the good advice she's given to me, and for helping me get better. Kudos to Grandma for taking care of me when Mom and Dad were gone.
Also, I still need responses to the e-mail that I sent out concerning my Black Belt testing, for those who are living in California. I would like to know A.S.A.P. and also my birthday is coming up so I'll be sending an e-mail out real soon but here are a few items on the list:
1) The 1955 Animal Farm animated video.
2) Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
3) Track shoes with distance spikes
4) Any Weird Al CD's
That's all I can think of for now but soon enough you will get a full e-mail. Well that is my week for you, please let me know if you can come to California or not.
Love,
Grant
