Another week bites the dust
Can you guess what we're reading in English? That's right, Animal Farm by George Orwell. Animal Farm is an allegory of the communist government, when it was thought of, how it came to be, how it failed, and the evil that ensued. (I felt tempted to say something about Dad given this fabulous, yet scary picture of a pig. Don't worry, I'll refrain.) Ironically we just got finished on the Russian revolution and we even watched Lenin's biography. I figured out that my English and History teacher coordinate their lessons, and it works pretty darn well. I think it's kinda creepy how Lenin's body is not only embalmed, but on display in Russia (The guy's been dead for about eighty something years). Also I love the fact that in Animal Farm the pigs represent the communists, it's just so fitting. Of course now I feel like if I ever meet Stalin in the next world (which I hope I don't) I'm gonna yell that crazy son-of-a-gun's head off! (He's already dead, so I can't kill him.)Moving on, though, on Saturday I had my first High School Track meet. I only competed in the mile, in the which I shaved my best mile time by 10 seconds, dropping it down to 5:35. I also ran, if I do say so myself, on an injured calf muscle from free sparring, (me and the guy I was free sparring with kicked each other at the same time. My shin hit his knee.) Fig (my track coach) told me that he could tell that I was hurting but I still ran a hard race. Needless to say I felt proud of myself, despite not getting anywhere near even third place which I don't care about.
Responsibility. The number one word that I'm dreading right now. Why you ask? Because of my procrastination I missed out on the information for the meet, and I also had to ask the Vincents for a ride because I could not relay the info to Mom on time. Because I procrastinated on my Dictator essay Molly, Mom, and I did not get to see Urinetown, (the new Downey musical). I'd like to take the time to say sorry, in particular to Mom, who by now is in Florida. Speaking of which I haven't seen Dad since Tuesday, I hope you're all right Dad, please let me know.
You know, this Savior of the World play isn't half bad (don't get any funny ideas Dad, I didn't say I enjoyed it!). It's not half good, but not half bad either. Also Congratulations on your engagement Derrick I hope all goes well for you.
P.S. I came across the omnipotent paradox which states that "Could an omnipotent being create a stone so heavy that even that being could not lift it?" I'd like to know to know your input to that question, because frankly it's been bugging me out lately.
Love from,
Grant

Grant - Your blog covers so many interesting comments on what you are reading. And, of course, your comical comments add to it. I hope your interest in history/English continues. I look forward to your future comments.
Procrastination is a bear. I hope your classes go well this week.
Hi Grant. I shall not give my opinion on your "omnipotent" question, because it would point out my lack of original thinking! What prompted this idea? It's quite interesting! Procrastination might run in the Boothe family (remember I'm technically a Boothe) because I know a few who are masters (or slaves) of it. Just joking..
Love ya, Gram B.
Grandma Boothe again...I procrastinated editing my comment! I meant to say that technically I'm not a Boothe!
Urinetown? Does that mean...pee town?... or your in town? E-mail me...thehunterlee@yahoo.com!
Could God create a stone He couldn't lift? No, He couldn't. Does that mean he can't do everything? Did He ever say He could? Or rather, did He ever MEAN that He could do anything at all? No. He lives by laws like we all do. This is all the brain power I'm willing to spend on this question. Run like the wind, Grant!
Thank you for the apology and for taking responsibility for your actions.
You are a wonderful son.
